Indigenous Weather Calender

Indigenous Weather Calender

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the weather where you are?

This amazing resource shares Indigenous Weather Knowlegde from all around Australia.

Here on the South Coast we most closely follow the D’harwal (North of the Shoalhaven river) and are now entering the time of ‘Burran’.

This means we have hot and dry conditions,

The blooming of the Weetjellan/Hickoery wattle (Acacia implexa) indicates that fires must not be lit.

What else does this time of year bring? Head to the BOM website to find out:

"It was with out a doubt the best day we have had for years!"

My niece and I had a fantastic day both Dolphin and Whale watching. It was with out a doubt the best day we have had for years! We saw 2 types of dolphins, seals, fairy penguins and the majestic whales who seemed to be interacting with us for ages. The information given to us by the crew was spot on and very interesting. Thank you Paula and Johnny for an amazing day we will never forget. We were given a thorough safety run down, entertained, given history lessons, and given extra coats to block the wind. Can't wait to return and highly recommend it to everyone.
