Luxury Sailing on Jervis Bay

Luxury Sailing on Jervis Bay

Here at Dolphin Watch Cruises we are lucky enough to have a diverse fleet of vessels, we have our premium jet boats, Eco Extreme and Eco Explorer and Tekin III – ‘The Spirit of Jervis Bay’. These beautiful boats take out our daily ‘Dolphin Watching Cruises’, ‘Hidden Secrets Cruises’ and ‘Whale Watching Cruises’ providing many unforgettable encounters with the paradise of Jervis Bay and our incredible marine life. While experiences like this are always special and enjoyed by our customers and staff alike.

There is one spectacular member of our fleet that is just that little bit more magical. Our luxury  38ft Seawind Catamaran ‘Discover’ is available for private charter. With a maximum capacity of 12 passengers, time spent exploring Jervis Bay, whilst being cared for by our crew and powered by wind is really something else.

In mid- February, we had a full day charter that leisurely circumnavigated Jervis Bay. We left Huskisson at 10.00am followed by a threatening band of cloud and rain, that most certainly did not dampen any spirits. We poked our nose South towards Vincentia and put up the Sails, smoothly dancing across the bay watching schools of fish, scooting across the surface being chased by something beneath the water. As we headed towards Murrays Beach we nervously enjoyed the light show from the big storm but with the skill of our talented skipper we managed to avoid the full force of mother nature. Who then treated us to a secluded Murrays Beach in Booderee National Park Jervis Bay for lunch and some refreshments ( and a dip in the crystal clear water of  this incredible bay of plenty)

We then continued sailing on the light southerly wind, past Bowen Island and the opening of Jervis Bay, spotting a seal swimming about. The storm had passed and we had sunshine bless us so we picked up another mooring off Binidijine Beach and had another play in the water.

Just as the glorious day coming to an end we set sail and made our way back, when some Dolphins joined us and started cruising on the bow with us off Honeymoon Bay! We couldn’t have asked for a better day!

My husband and I did a 2 hour whale watch cruise today and it was amazing. The captain and crew were fantastic and the whales really put on a show for us. We had whales going under the boat and rolling around in the water within metres of our vessel. Perfect day, thank you.
