Will we see Dolphins?

With over 100 resident dolphins that call Jervis Bay home, the chances of seeing them on one of our 1.5 hour Dolphin Cruises is very high. We are that confident that you’ll be able to see dolphins on one of our dolphin cruises, that we’ll happily give you a FREE return cruise if no dolphins are spotted. The FREE return cruise vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of initial cruise.

When are Whale Cruises available?

Humpback Whales have 2 migrations, a northern and a southern migration. With the northern migration usually passing Jervis Bay around early May. So we begin our Whale Cruises around the same time. We continue our whale cruises until the end of the southern migration which usually finishes in Jervis Bay early November.

Do we need to come to the office to check-in?

We have all our bookings electronically. So there is no need to come into our office to check-in. You just need to make your way down to Huskisson Wharf (map below) 15 minutes prior to your cruise departure time. One of our friendly staff will be there checking customers in and all you need to let them know is the booking name.

Where can I park my car?

Huskisson is a very popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. So finding a spot to park your car can be tricky and time consuming. We recommend that you park your car in the FREE ALL DAY car park located at 38 Owen Street, Huskisson NSW 2540
It is only a short 2 minute walk to the wharf from here.

It’s raining, is the cruise still going?

Weather and sea conditions have an effect on our cruises but we still cruise in rainy conditions. Our fleet all have undercover areas that can be used to get out of the elements. If a cruise is cancelled due to weather and sea conditions, we will inform our customers as early as possible and provide you with a few options instead of that cruise. Please do not assume that a cruise is cancelled due to weather. If you’re unsure please call the office on (02) 4441 6311 to find out.
Jervis Bay is a large bay and our skippers will decide which direction to travel to provide you with the best and most comfortable experience.

How much notice do I need to give to cancel my booking?

We request that all cancellations are made 72 hours prior to your cruise departure. However we understand that sometimes circumstances can change and we do our best to provide you with an alternative.

Can I change the date or time of our booking?

We can change your booked cruise date and/or time up to 72 hours prior to your booked cruise departure. If you are wanting to change your booking within 72 hours of your booked cruise departure, there may be an administration fee of 20% applied.

What happens if my cruise is cancelled?

There may be times where Dolphin Watch Cruises require to cancel a cruise. This can be due to weather and sea conditions or the minimum number of passengers were not met. We will notify you as soon as this is done to make arrangements. This may be a change of vessel, a change in time of your cruise or we will provide you with a full refund.

Is there food and drink available onboard? Can we bring our own?

We have 2 vessels in our fleet that have a fully stocked and licensed bar and also provide snacks to be purchased. You are welcome to bring your own water and snacks, however alcohol is strictly prohibited to be brought onto any vessel. Alcohol can be purchased from the bars on Tekin III and Explorer II if you wish to do so.

What if I get sea sick?

Sea Sickness or Motion Sickness can vary depending on the individual and can also be influenced by the sea conditions. If you get other types motion sickness, such as on a plane, car or train for example, you may get sea sick. Jervis Bay, while an open bay (meaning it has a wide entrance to the open ocean), is usually very protected from swells from the ocean. Our skippers also choose their route depending on the wind and swell directions to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
If you are concerned about becoming sea sick while on our cruise, we recommend seeking advice from a pharmacist about sea sickness preventatives as prevention is the best cure.
