The Championships are held in and around the beautiful south coast town of Huskisson, Jervis Bay, NSW. Huskisson is approximately 2.5 hours south of Sydney and east of Canberra. It is one of the many coastal communities that bask in the presence of Jervis Bay, now classified as a Marine Park.

The original Lady Denman Ferry is housed and being restored in the Museum.
The museum has three major collections, an Koori Coast, a European collection and Maritime collection.
The complex boasts a large outdoor Fish Pond hosting a large variety of ocean fish species which you can observe and feed.
A Large Boat Shed is situated on the edge of the Fish Pond displaying old boat building methods which were part of the history of early Huskisson.
The Mangrove Boardwalk has been developed so that you can stroll through and learn about this essential ecosystem to the coastal environment.

Jervis Bay Marine Park |
Jervis Bay Marine Park is approximately 180km south of Sydney and 20km south east of Nowra, in the Batemans marine bioregion. The marine park covers an area of approximately 22,000 hectares and spans over 100km of coastline and adjacent ocean, extending from Kinghorn Point in the north to Sussex Inlet in the south and including most of Jervis Bay. |

Booderee National Park |
Booderee National Park and Booderee Botanic Gardens are the names chosen by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community for the former Commonwealth Jervis Bay National Park and Jervis Bay Botanic Gardens.
Booderee is an Aboriginal word from the Dhurga language meaning 'bay of plenty' or 'plenty of fish'.
Booderee National Park and Botanic Gardens offer a broad range of recreational opportunities within a magnificent natural setting. The Park is approximately three hours drive from Sydney or Canberra, located on the South Coast of New South Wales between Nowra and Ulladulla.

ORRCA |
ORRCA is a volunteer group focused on marine mammal rescue and research. Australia has many whale strandings, and Orrca works with the National Parks and Wildlife Service at these events. Even by the mid 1980s, few animals could be saved. However Australia has taken a leading role in the development of whale rescue techniques, and today there is an excellent success record at mass strandings. |

We are a small team currently looking at different aspects of the behaviour and ecology of seabirds and marine mammals. We have experience in working particularly with seals, albatrosses and penguins from many different parts of the world, but we are also working with cetaceans (Rob, Kelly and Michelle) and John used to work with polar bears. Our current research projects are concerned with acoustics, foraging ecology, population dynamics, lactational physiology, conservation, mating behaviour, social behaviour and human impacts. |
